Civil War Flags

The Battle Flag Preservation Project is sponsored by the New York State Military Museum, administered by the New York State Division of Military and Naval Affairs, and is responsible for the care and interpretation of the New York State Battle Flag Collection a group of over 1,850 military flags dating from the War of 1812 to the present.
The Onondaga County Clerk’s Office sent ten local Civil War Flags for preservation. The flags were stored in an oak wall case in the office for over 80 years. Three out of the five “Onondaga regiments” are represented by these flags. If you would like to visit and see these flags please contact me at (315) 435-2227 or by e-mail at oncclerk@ongov.net.
Our many thanks to these thoughtful people and organizations that have contributed so much time and money to make this all possible: Flag Contributors
Sincerely,
Emily Essi Bersani
