The Communicable Disease Program is concerned with reportable infectious diseases as mandated by the New York State Sanitary Code. Epidemiology is a primary function of the program which includes investigation, case finding, education and consultation. Another primary function of the program is the prevention of human rabies through preventive recommendations and referral for prophylaxis.
