Beach Feasibility Study and Design Documents, Presentations and Renderings

On December 13, 2017, Onondaga County was awarded a Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (LWRP) grant through the New York State Department of State (NYSDOS) Regional Economic Development Council for the purpose of conducting a beach feasibility study for Onondaga Lake’s northeastern shoreline.  Through a Request for Proposals process, Barton and Loguidice was selected, along with their team including Anchor QEA and EcoLogic, to complete the beach feasibility study, economic/market analysis and final design documents for the recommended beach alternative. The Onondaga County Capital Improvement Plan 2017-2022 includes $300,000 for Beach Development at Onondaga Lake Park, and this State grant will fulfill this proposed project work through a feasibility study and final design documents. If the County seeks to construct a beach in the future, a separate funding source and Legislative approval must be obtained.
