County Executive Ryan McMahon Signs Local Law Providing Free Burials for Veterans
Spouses and eligible dependents also qualify
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – County Executive J. Ryan McMahon, II signed the local law today providing free burials to Veterans, their spouse and eligible dependents. The County Executive first announced the proposal during his 2019 State of the County. The County Legislature voted to pass it unanimously at their April session.
County Executive McMahon said, “It is an honor to be able to sign this legislation into law. This was the right thing to do and I thank my partners in the County Legislature for their unanimous support.” McMahon continued, “The last thing the men and women who serve our Country should worry about is paying for their final resting place. This law now ensures that never has to be a concern.”
