County Executive Ryan McMahon Appoints New Onondaga County Medical Examiner & Commissioner of E911

Appointments subject to approval of County Legislature

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – County Executive J. Ryan McMahon, II announced the appointment of Dr. Carolyn H. Revercomb as the Onondaga County Medical Examiner and Julie Kolakowski Corn as the new Commissioner of E911. Both appointments require confirmation from the Onondaga County Legislature.

Dr. Revercomb currently serves as the Assistant Medical Examiner/Deputy Chief Medical Examiner for the New Jersey Southern Regional Medical Examiner’s Office. She has held that position since February of 2016. Ms. Revercomb received her undergraduate degree from Yale University and her Medical Degree from West Virginia University. Her appointment will go before the Health Committee in May with a confirmation vote tentatively scheduled for the June session of the Onondaga County Legislature.

County Executive McMahon said, “Dr. Revercomb is an accomplished and experienced professional and I am proud to appoint her as the new Chief Medical Examiner for Onondaga County.” McMahon continued, “I am confident under the leadership of Dr. Revercomb, the Onondaga County Medical Examiner’s Office will continue to be among the best in the country.”

Ms. Julie Corn currently serves the Communications Chief, Directorate of Operations, Information and Intelligence Analysis (IIA) for the National Security Agency. Serving in the position since October of 2016, Ms. Corn is responsible for the execution of a variety of Agency strategies as well as managing a yearly budget in excess of one million dollars. She received her undergraduate from the University of Mary Washington and her Graduate degree from the National Intelligence University. Her appointment

will be considered by the Legislature at their May session. Her start day is expected to be May 13th and her pay will be $92,895.

County Executive McMahon said, “We are very fortunate that someone with the breadth of experience as Ms. Corn has agreed to join our team as E911 Commissioner. Our E911 team are the first first responders and do amazing work every day to help members of our community at their most vulnerable.” McMahon continued, “Onondaga County has proudly been on the cutting edge of technology with our E911 system and I have no doubt under Julie’s leadership that will continue.”
