County Executive Joanie Mahoney and Galaxy Communications Announce 27 th Season of Lights on the Lake

Syracuse, NY – Onondaga County Executive Joanie Mahoney and Galaxy Communications President Ed
Levine announce the 27th season of Wegmans Lights on the Lake is scheduled to illuminate the park
this season, beginning on November 16th.

“Once again Onondaga County is partnering with Galaxy Communications to present the 27th season of
Lights on the Lake,” said County Executive Joanie Mahoney. “This holiday tradition continues to grow
and remain a favorite event for so many people. We appreciate the collaborative effort of the Parks
Department and Galaxy to continuously improve the show and look forward to another great year.”

The public-private partnership has allowed the continuation and growth of an already successful
program in Onondaga Lake Park. Sponsored by Wegmans, collaborative efforts like these have proven
to be beneficial in creating exciting events in Onondaga County.

This year Wegmans Lights on the Lake will offer the popular pedestrian-only walk on Monday,
November 14th with the Lights on the Lake Dog Walk taking place on Tuesday, November 15th, both
walks are free and run from 5-9pm. Also this year, Lights on the Lake is proud to support the men and
women who work tirelessly to protect our country. The drive-through portion of Lights on the Lake will
open on November 16th. Any veteran, both active and retired, can drive through on opening night for
free. A military ID will be needed at the ticket booth. The drive thru portion of Lights will run through
Sunday, January 8th from 5 -10pm nightly. Lights on the Lake will be open to vehicles on New Year’s
Eve. The price of admission at the gate will be $10 per car Monday – Thursday and $15 per car Friday –
Sunday. Visitors can show their Wegmans Shoppers Club card and pay $6 on Monday or Tuesday
evenings.

Discounted advance sale tickets for Lights on the Lake are available for purchase until November 15th.
The $6 tickets, a $15 retail value, admit one car any night to the popular light show. Tickets are being
sold at Wegmans.

Visitors can be on the lookout for the following new additions this year: Nessie the 92 foot Lochness
Monster, a toy soldier with a cannon ball arch, an Oz tunnel arch, Under the Sea arches, tree drip lights
and more.

Lights on the Lake entry is in the Wegmans Landing section of Onondaga Lake Park which is accessed
