BIOGRAPHY

Legislator Gregg Eriksen represents the 6th District in the Onondaga County Legislature, which covers Marcellus, Skaneateles, Spafford, and parts of Camillus. Originally from the Hudson Valley, Legislator Eriksen moved to Central New York in 2007 and has called Skaneateles home for more than ten years with his wife, Meryl, and their three children.

Legislator Eriksen’s interest in government started early: he interned in the district offices of a State Assemblyman and two Members of Congress while still in high school, helping connect constituents to government resources. He went on to earn his political science degree from Middlebury College and his law degree from Syracuse University College of Law. After working as a clerk for a federal judge in the Northern District of New York, he became a litigator at Bousquet Holstein PLLC in Syracuse, where he still practices commercial litigation today.

Before joining the County Legislature, Legislator Eriksen served seven years as a Trustee on the Skaneateles Village Board. In November 2025, he was elected to the Legislature. He says he ran for office because government exists to improve people’s day-to-day lives.

In the Legislature, Legislator Eriksen chairs the Environmental Protection Committee and serves as a member of the Planning & Economic Development Committee.

Legislative priorities include:

• Expanding workforce housing options for working families

• Investing in essential services like roads, Medicaid access, and veterans’ outreach

• Directing county resources away from wasteful projects and toward community needs

• Supporting small businesses and lowering everyday costs for Central New Yorkers
