On Committee Meeting Testimony from Friends of the Zoo
“This afternoon, Ms. Megan Thomas, Mr. Andrew Brazil, and the Friends of the Rosemond Gifford Zoo shared a strong message of the group’s efforts to remain a County partner. They also brought to light a financial vulnerability that could fundamentally undermine the good work being done at the zoo. This is a group and a facility we all care deeply about.
I want to thank both the Friends of the Zoo and the County Executive’s Team for engaging the legislature to discuss the current disconnect between the County and the Friends of the Zoo. Our nonprofit partners must know that we are reliable, committed stewards of these relationships. I will continue to stay engaged and work toward a resolution that best serves our community and all those who depend on it.”
