Clerk Maturo: Notice of a public hearing on renewal of Agricultural District No. 2, County of Onondaga, Towns of Marcellus, Skaneateles and Spafford

Notice is hereby given, that a public hearing will be held by the Onondaga County Legislature on the renewal of Agricultural District No. 2.

Notice is further given, that that pursuant to Governor Cuomo’s Executive Order 220.1, issued on March 12, 2020 suspending the Open Meeting Law, the public hearing will be held virtually on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at 12:50 p.m. Members of the public wishing to attend may do so virtually by downloading the Zoom application and using Meeting ID: 859 8689 6414 and Password: 1 N3DMy. Written statements should be submitted via email to DebbieMaturo@ongov.net or via USPS mail to Onondaga County Legislature, 401 Montgomery Street, Court House Room 407, Syracuse, NY 13202. Statements will be accepted up to 12:00 p.m. on June 2, 2020, and will become part of the permanent record.

Pursuant to Section 303-a of Article 25AA of the New York State Agriculture and Markets Law, the Onondaga County Legislature adopted Resolution No. 156-2019 providing for notice of the eight-year review of Agricultural District No. 2 in the Towns of Marcellus, Skaneateles and Spafford.

The Onondaga County Agriculture and Farmland Protection Board has prepared a report in accordance with the provisions of Article 25AA, with recommendations to continue such district with modifications.

The lands proposed to be added are parcels 013.-02-44.0 in the Town of Marcellus; and parcels 020.-02-02.0, 020.-02-04.1, 020.-02-30.0, 020.-02-39.0, 047.-01-36.0 and 051.-02-04.1 in the Town of Skaneateles.

The lands proposed to be removed are parcels 025.-03-07.1, 017.-08-15.0, 010.-01-10.0, 016.-03-14.2 and 023.-01-22.2 in the Town of Marcellus; and parcels 035.-03-07.1, 061.-01-02.1, 051.- 01-18.5, 051.-01-24.0 and 019.-02-11.1 in the Town of Skaneateles; and parcels 014.-02-10.0, 001.-01-05.0 and 032.-02-01.0 in the Town of Spafford.

These proposed changes will be considered at the public hearing. The Agriculture and Farmland Protection Board report and a map of Agricultural District No. 2 may be examined at the Syracuse­Onondaga County Planning Agency, Civic Center, 11th Floor, 421 Montgomery St., Syracuse, NY 13202, or viewed at http://www.ongov.net/planning/review.html.
