County Executive McMahon Announces “Request for Qualifications” for new Industrial Treatment Train at Oak Orchard Wastewater Treatment Plant

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – County Executive McMahon today announced that a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) has been issued as part of a two-step procurement process to advance a new Industrial Treatment Train (ITT) at the Oak Orchard Wastewater Treatment Plant in the Town of Clay.

Onondaga County Executive Ryan McMahon said, “Preparing for the historic investment being made by Micron requires an all-of-the-above approach to ensure we are ready to meet and maximize this moment. A critical component of that approach has been our effort to upgrade and build the necessary wastewater infrastructure at the Oak Orchard Treatment Plant.” McMahon continued, “With the issuing of this RFQ, our community has taken yet another significant step forward to fully maximize this transformation project.”

The RFQ calls for, in part, the new ITT to include advanced treatment of industrial wastewater, reclaimed water facilities and an industrial wastewater pump station and associated conveyance means. It must be designed and constructed to treat industrial wastewater generated by industrial users located in and around the White Pine Commerce Park in the Town of Clay.
