County Executive Ryan McMahon Announces Applications Now Being Accepted for Window & Door Replacement Program

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – County Executive J. Ryan McMahon, II today announced that applications are now being accepted for the next round of funding for the successful window and door replacement program. This proactive program focuses on replacing windows and doors in rental properties within the City of Syracuse.

County Executive McMahon said, “For far too long, our community has only talked about ways we could address the plague of lead affecting our community. When I was fortunate to become County Executive, I told our team that those days are over. We needed a comprehensive and holistic approach that addressed this issue from all angles.” McMahon continued, “In partnership with Home HeadQuarters, our window and door replacement program has proven to be an important tool in our efforts, and we are proud to provide additional resources to support this effort.”

The first round of funding has so far resulted in 447 windows and 45 doors being replaced. Home HeadQuarters will review applications to identify eligible properties that need window and exterior door replacement in homes built before 1978. Funding is in the form of a grant (deferred loan) secured by a mortgage filed against the property.
