County Executive McMahon Announces Small Festival Fund Program Applications Now Being Accepted

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – County Executive J. Ryan McMahon, II today announced that applications are now being accepted for the Onondaga County Small Festival Fund Program. This $100,000 initiative is dedicated to supporting and bolstering the numerous small arts and cultural festivals that take place throughout Onondaga County. The Small Festival Fund Program will be administered by CNY Arts.

Onondaga County Executive Ryan McMahon said, “Quality of life is a large part of what makes our community so special, and the arts and entertainment are also a critical part of our local economy. We are fortunate to host numerous diverse and successful festivals throughout the year, greatly contributing to that quality of life we all enjoy.” McMahon continued, “This initiative is designed to support and grow these festivals so that we can continue to enjoy these unique and great events for years to come.”

Grant awards and funding recommendations will be determined through a peer review process conducted by a panel of artists, arts administrations and community leaders. The application portal opens on Tuesday, April 1st. Applications and awards will be accepted on a rolling basis. Successful
applicants will receive awards of up to $7,500 which can be used towards things such as, but not limited to, artists fees, marketing/publicity costs or project related costs such as rental of space or equipment. Only nonprofit organizations are eligible to apply for the grant with a deadline of April of 29th.
