A Statement Regarding the Passage of the New York State Fiscal Year 2020 Budget
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – County Executive McMahon said, “While we continue to study the budget in its entirety and it’s impacts on Onondaga County, making the property tax cap permanent was the right decision and I thank Governor Cuomo for his leadership on the issue. Onondaga County has operated within the tax cap every year since its implementation while also cutting taxes for our residents.” McMahon continued, “As our community actively works to solve the infrastructure challenges, we appreciate Governor Cuomo and NYS putting $500 million towards clean water infrastructure investments. This commitment will ensure our community can tap into important financial resources as we invest and upgrade our own clean water infrastructure. Thank you to all the legislators that supported these two important initiatives.”
