Bishop Brook Trunk Sewer
Access Maintenance
Right-of-Way Maintenance work around Bishop Brook Trunk Sewer is part of a broader effort to conduct Condition Assessments and Inflow & Infiltration (I&I) Inspections of the sewer system.
This project is an important part of the County’s ongoing commitment to maintain reliable sewer service and protect our environment. It supports compliance with an Order on Consent between Onondaga County and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC), which requires investigation and reduction of I&I sources. Work on the access maintenance project began Monday, January 12, and concluded end of March 2026.
What to Expect
Project Location
Work took place within Onondaga County’s 25-foot-wide Right-of-Way along the Bishop Brook Trunk Sewer (Overview Map).
Affected Road Traffic
No road closings or traffic interruptions were expected during this project.
Work Activities
Activities included: Tree and brush cutting, trimming, stump grinding, and general clearing.
Work Hours
Work occurred during daytime hours, approximately 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
Project Duration
The work lasted approximately 2-3 months from start as anticipated, weather dependent. Work on the project began January 12, and concluded end of March 2026.
After Clearing
The cleared area was left in a neat and stable condition; trees and brush were mulched.
Sewer Inspection
Now that the right-of-way maintenance is complete, a Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) inspection team will follow to inspect manholes and sewer lines for their condition and any signs of I&I. Findings from this inspection will help plan future maintenance and improvement projects in your area.
