Ryan McMahon II announced today the appointment of Miles Bottrill to the Onondaga County Legislature, 15th District. The 15th Districts covers parts of the city of Syracuse, towns of Onondaga and Geddess, as well as the Village of Solvay. The announcement was made at the Bob Cecile Community Center, located in the heart of the Valley neighborhood and the 15th Legislative District.<\/p>\n<p>Bottrill is a graduate of Onondaga Community College and University of California at Santa Barbara. He then went on to receive his Masters of Business Administration from Vanderbilt University. He previously held the position of Vice President at Key Bank and currently serves as the Director of Development for the Syracuse University College of Law. Bottrill was also elected to four consecutive terms on the Syracuse Common Council and served as Minority Leader during part of his tenure.<\/p>\n<p>County Executive McMahon said, \u201cMiles brings a great mix of private and public experience to the County Legislature. His time on the Syracuse Common Council proved his ability to work across the aisle and understands the importance of constituent service.\u201d McMahon continued, \u201cI look forward to working with Miles and all of his colleagues in the County Legislature in the coming months to tackle important issues like poverty, infrastructure and economic development.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Legislator Miles Bottrill said, \u201cThank you to County Executive McMahon for your trust and confidence in appointing me to the County Legislature. I am proud to call Syracuse home and look forward to meeting and representing the people of the 15th Legislative District.\u201d Bottrill continued, \u201cI know the importance of creating real economic opportunity for our community and providing a viable pathway out of poverty. I look forward to working with County Executive McMahon and my colleagues in the Legislature on these important issues.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bottrill, joined by his family, was sworn in by State Supreme Court Justice Ed Carni.
