Onondaga County

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — County Executive J. Ryan McMahon, II, announced the latest round of investments in the Villages of Baldwinsville and Camillus through the Onondaga County Main Street Program. This year’s awards continue a strong and consistent record of reinvestment in the commercial corridors of both villages.

Projects in both villages build on years of sustained reinvestment, and encompass exterior restorations, windows and doors, façade upgrades, siding, lighting, and additional improvements that enhance storefronts, support small businesses, and improve the walkability and overall appeal of the village center. The ongoing investments build on a multi-year effort that has supported a wide range of improvements—from façade overhauls and ADA upgrades to major structural repairs, roofing projects, and energy-efficiency enhancements across small businesses, professional offices, nonprofit organizations, and longstanding community institutions.

BALDWINSVILLE

• The County will invest $251,732, matched by $83,911 from property owners, generating a total of $335,643. Projects include improvements to Olive’s Eatery, Sheehan’s Appliance, Sirius Orthodontics, the former VFW site, Ledden & Huegel Law, and Family Dentistry.
• Between 2019 and 2025, Baldwinsville completed 46 projects, supported by $1.71 million in County Main Street funding and $778,309 in matching private investment—amounting to more than $2.48 million in local economic and streetscape improvements.

CAMILLUS

• The County will invest $463,264, matched by $154,421 from property owners, generating a total of $617,685. Projects include Camillus Station, Green Gate Inn, Methodist Church, RBK Development, TDK Engineering, Mission Hope Church, East of Nowhere, Olympus, Allan Law Office, Krabby Kirk Saloon, My Town Realty, The Camillus Grill, and the Village Smoke Shop.
• Between 2021 and 2025, Camillus completed 28 projects, supported by $1.44 million in County Main Street funding and $480,278 in matching private investment—amounting to more than $1.9 million in local economic and streetscape improvements.

County Executive McMahon said, “Baldwinsville and Camillus are proving what happens when public investment meets local ambition. Every dollar we put into our Main Streets generates real economic momentum—new projects, stronger businesses, and commercial corridors that are attracting even more private investment. This is exactly the kind of catalytic growth we want to see across Onondaga County.”

Countywide, the Main Street Program has leveraged $22.5 million in county funds and nearly $16 million in private investment since 2019, totaling more than $38.49 million dedicated to strengthening business districts and revitalizing commercial corridors.
