Local Emergency Order Rescinding The Curfew Within Onondaga County Effective June 1, 2020

WHEREAS, on May 31, 2020, due to the outbreak of civil unrest as a reaction to the death of George Floyd, an Emergency Order was issued establishing a curfew within Onondaga County, prohibiting all persons from remaining in any public place during the hours of 8:00 p.m. through 7:00 a.m., including a prohibition on pedestrian and vehicular movement into or within the County or any area of the County; and

WHEREAS, the curfew within the territorial limits of Onondaga County is no longer required at this time; and

NOW, THEREFORE, as Onondaga County Executive, by the authority vested in me by the Onondaga County Charter and Administrative Code and applicable laws, and pursuant to Section 24 of Article 2-B of the New York State Executive Law, effective immediately, I hereby rescind the Emergency Order Regarding Curfew, such that a curfew is no longer in effect within Onondaga County.

Nothing herein shall rescind the Proclamation of Emergency, dated May 31, 2020, which shall remain in effect for the time allowed by law, unless earlier rescinded or extended by act of the Onondaga County Executive.
