County Executive Ryan McMahon & Galaxy Media Raise $11,500 for Local Charities with Lights on the Lake Program

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Onondaga County Executive J. Ryan McMahon, II and Galaxy Media
President Ed Levine announce that Lights on the Lake raised $11,500 for local charities this
year.

The “Second Chance for Second Chance” promotion, which kept Lights on the Lake open for
one additional day, raised $6,500 for Second Chance Canine Adoption Shelter. An additional
$2,500 was raised during the Lights on the Lake walks for Hillside Work Scholarship
Connection and Humane CNY. All charities were given checks during a gathering held at
Second Chance Canine Adoption Shelter today.

The 2018 season of Lights on the Lake welcomed 43,420 vehicles, the second highest attendance
on record.

“Onondaga County was proud to partner with Galaxy Media to present Lights on the Lake,” said
County Executive Ryan McMahon. “This annual holiday tradition is something that we are
proud to have within our community and the generosity shown to these non-profits is another
example of why Central New York is a great place to live!”

The pubic-private partnership has allowed the continuation and growth of an already successful
program in Onondaga Lake Park. Sponsored by Wegmans, collaborative efforts like these have
proven to be beneficial in creating exciting family-friendly events in Onondaga County.

“We are proud to continue our partnership with Onondaga County,” said Ed Levine, President
and CEO of Galaxy Media. “It’s easy to promote an idea when you have great partners and a
wonderful event. This is a great family tradition that hundreds of thousands from our community
enjoy each and every year. We also believe in giving back and were proud to recognize and
raise money for Hillside, Humane and Second Chance.”
