Onondaga County Announces Joint Partnership with New York State for New Airport
Project will put Onondaga County and region at forefront for new economic development and tourism
ONONDAGA COUNTY – County Executive Joanie Mahoney announced today a partnership
with Governor Andrew Cuomo and New York State to redevelop the Syracuse Hancock
International Airport into a world class facility. As part of this partnership Onondaga County
will pledge one million dollars towards the new airport. This project is another example of the
continued effort on the part of the Governor to modernize our transportation infrastructure.
County Executive Joanie Mahoney said, “This opportunity will be a legacy for generations to
come in our region. It is a pleasure to work with Governor Cuomo, and Onondaga County is
proud to partner with the Governor on this transformative project.”
