County Executive Joanie Mahoney Appoints Deb Cody to County Legislature

Cody will assume vacant seat in the 5th District

Onondaga County Executive Joanie Mahoney announced today that she has selected Deb Cody
to serve on the Onondaga County Legislature. Cody will serve the constituents of the 5th
legislative district.

“Deb Cody has a tremendous record serving the community,” said County Executive Mahoney.
“She will bring a valuable perspective to the Legislature and I am pleased that she accepted my
offer to serve.”

“I am grateful to County Executive Mahoney for this opportunity to further serve my
community,” said Deb Cody. “I look forward to working with the County Executive and my
fellow legislators in addressing the issues we are facing and building upon the progress being
made in Onondaga County.”

Onondaga County Legislature Chairman Ryan McMahon said, “The commitment Deb Cody has
made to constituent service is admirable and will serve her well as the next legislator from the 5th
District. Deb will undoubtedly be a strong and vocal advocate for her constituents.”

Deb Cody will fill the seat vacated by former legislator Kathy Rapp. Cody is Constituent
Services Director for New York State Senator John DeFrancisco. She resides in the Town of
Salina and is a graduate of Columbia College.
