It involves intake, investigation, and assessment of referrals of abuse, neglect, and financial exploitation of qualifying vulnerable adults.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>APS workers develop services plans with eligible clients to remedy physical abuse, sexual abuse, emotional abuse, neglect, financial exploitation, or to address unmet needs of adults that meet all New York State criteria:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Have a mental or physical impairment; and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Are at risk of harm, whether by their own or others\u2019 actions, or have an unmet need; <strong>and<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have no one able and willing to responsibly assist<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n<style>.wp-block-kadence-advancedheading.kt-adv-heading7_317c26-87, from:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Safety monitoring<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Linkages with other service providers (health, mental health, aging, etc.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assistance in obtaining benefits<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Informal money management<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Seeking appointment as a representative payee<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Petitioning a court for appointment as a guardian<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Other legal intervention<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<style>.wp-block-kadence-advancedheading.kt-adv-heading7_a32d60-a9,
